Karobar Point

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 24, 2026

1. Introduction

Karobar Point is a point-of-sale and back-office platform covering sales, inventory, purchases, expenses, accounting-ready tracking, contacts/ledgers, and reporting — available on the web, as an offline-capable desktop app, and (on Cloud plans) an ecommerce storefront.

This policy explains what information we collect across those surfaces, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to your account owner details as well as the business data your team enters while operating the workspace.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in three broad categories:

  • Account & business details — your name, email, phone, workspace/company name, address, and role (owner, manager, cashier)
  • Operational data you enter — products, stock levels, customers, suppliers, sales, purchases, expenses, payments, receipts, and reports generated inside the app
  • Billing information — plan selection (Free, Lifetime, or Cloud) and payment details, processed by our third-party payment processors; we do not store full card numbers
  • Technical data — device/browser type, IP address, log data, and desktop app version, used for security, diagnostics, and offline-sync reliability

3. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

  • Operate core features: checkout, inventory control, purchasing, expense tracking, contacts/ledgers, and reporting
  • Sync data between the desktop app, browsers, and multiple devices/counters on Cloud plans, and generate Cloud backups
  • Process billing, license activation for the desktop app, and plan upgrades or renewals
  • Send transactional emails (receipts, verification, password resets, billing notices) and respond to support requests
  • Detect fraud, prevent abuse of the platform, and keep tenant data isolated and secure
  • Improve performance, add features, and fix issues, using aggregated or de-identified usage data where possible

4. Data Storage, Offline Use & Backups

Workspace data (sales, inventory, contacts, etc.) is stored in your account's database. On the desktop app, data may also be cached locally so checkout keeps working when the network drops, and syncs back once connectivity is restored.

Cloud plans include offsite backup/restore points for your store data. You are responsible for keeping your device and account credentials secure, especially for offline desktop installs.

5. Data Security

We use technical and organizational measures — including encryption in transit, tenant isolation between businesses, access controls tied to roles and permissions, and routine backups — to protect your data. No system is 100% secure, and we encourage strong passwords and limiting cashier accounts to POS-only access.

6. Sharing of Information

We do not sell personal information. We share data only:

  • With payment processors to complete billing for paid plans
  • With infrastructure and email-delivery providers who process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations
  • When required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Karobar Point, our users, or others
  • With your consent, such as when you invite team members or connect an integration

7. Data Retention

We retain account and business data for as long as your workspace is active. If you close your account, we retain data only as needed to comply with legal, tax, or accounting obligations, or to resolve disputes, after which it is deleted or anonymized.

8. Cookies & Similar Technologies

The web app and marketing site use cookies and similar technologies for authentication (keeping you signed in), remembering preferences (such as language and currency format), and basic analytics to understand feature usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may prevent sign-in.

9. International Use

You can use Karobar Point across regions with support for multiple languages and local currency formatting. Depending on where you and your infrastructure providers are located, data may be processed in a different country than where your business operates, always under safeguards consistent with this policy.

10. Children's Privacy

Karobar Point is a business tool intended for use by adults operating a business. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Your Rights

You may request access, correction, export, or deletion of your personal information, subject to legal and operational requirements (for example, financial records we must retain). Workspace owners are responsible for managing the data entered by their team members. To exercise these rights, contact support@karobar-point.com.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be communicated in the app or by email, and the "last updated" date on this page will reflect the latest revision.
